Residential broadband internet offerings in Manila just got better. New plans, new speeds and new prices.
Average download speed in Mega Manila is about 256 Kbps to 512 Kbps, and 768 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps for higher plans.
Globe’s PHP1,995 plan offers bandwidth up to 3 Mbps and bayanDSL’s PHP2,699 plan is up to 2.5 Mbps. PLDT’s Xcel plan is up to 3 Mbps as well, but for PHP3,000/month.
The wait for better speeds is softly over. Because a new plan has arrived, SkyBroadband now offers 12 Mbps.

SkyBroadband’s 12 Mbps speeds according to Speedtest.net:

Speed comes with price, a somewhat expensive PHP5,999/month. Compared to other countries though, most of them have thrice the speed for only half the price.
