Ohyessiree! Microsoft has announced it will release free anti-virus software.

A beta, or test, version of Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) will be publicly available for download beginning June 23 in Brazil, Israel and the United States. It is to be rolled out in other countries later in the year.

OneCare replacement? But then again it looks like MS won’t compete with the likes of Symantec, McAfee and Trend Micro. All they want, I guess, is for people to know that they (MS) care.
