MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) on EDSA (Epifanio delos Santos Avenue) will stop its 24-hour operation on Wednesday, after just two days of implementing the scheme to service commuters working on the graveyard shift, a spokesperson for the rail system said.

2 part ng story, isang maling report from AFP (1000 lang daw ang current workforce natin) at isang disturbing moves implying the re-occurence of the program – some were asked to move to PCS, no disrespect to PCS but if you’re a tech person, you would not want to move to that team.

I continue to raise the suggestion that let those who wants to avail the program go, and let those who wants to stay, stay. A morale issue is something that should be addressed first.

In my opinion, the company still offers a lot especially in the Philippines, but there are certainly greener pastures out there. And that means it’s not the end of the world if you’re out. Things could still be better.

Sometimes—not only with Accenture people—it really amuses me when I hear them talk about their companies like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. In rare occasions, some are even more loyal to their company than their friends…and even girlfriends—eh kung di tuloy yung date nyo, or di na kayo nagkikita ng isang buwan kasi palagi ka na lang may hinahabol na hindi inaabutan, and eventually break na kayo, alam natin kung saan ang loyalty mo. ahere’s a thinker. i know somebody who came from mindanao. He is here in manila trying his luck, is a boarder, and knows nobody else. he is a fresh graduate and after 4 months with Accenture was released through the program. is it easy to tell him everything is going to be alright? he knows nobody here, has bills to pay, has only 4 months worth of experience. maybe he will find job immediately, maybe he will be lucky, but we never know.

again, my point is, let us be understanding to the feelings of those who were really affected.

You find it ok when an employee resigns in a company during the time when he is badly needed. But when a company lays off an employee during the time when the employee badly needs work, even under valid reason, you find it unfair?
